Speaking Part 1: Interview
Phần tiêu đề “Speaking Part 1: Interview”Topic A — Summer Holidays
Phần tiêu đề “Topic A — Summer Holidays”1. Where do you go for your summer holiday?
Every summer, I usually go to the beach with my family. We often visit Nha Trang or Vung Tau because the beaches there are very beautiful and clean. Sometimes, we also go back to our hometown in the countryside to visit our grandparents.
2. How do you enjoy your summer holiday?
I enjoy my summer holiday by doing many fun activities. I love swimming in the sea, eating fresh seafood, and taking photos of the sunset. I also spend time with my family — we cook together, play games, and just relax. In addition, I like to read books that I don’t have time to read during the school year.
3. Is summer the best holiday?
Yes, I think summer is the best holiday in a year. Firstly, it is the longest holiday, so I have enough time to travel and rest. Secondly, the weather is great for outdoor activities like swimming and hiking. Moreover, after a hard school year, summer is the perfect time to recharge my energy and prepare for the next year.
Topic B — Cooking
Phần tiêu đề “Topic B — Cooking”1. Do you like to cook?
Yes, I enjoy cooking very much. I usually cook simple dishes like fried rice, soup, and stir-fried vegetables. Cooking is very relaxing for me. I feel happy when I cook a meal and my family enjoys eating it.
2. Do you prefer cooking at home or eating at a restaurant?
I prefer cooking at home because it is healthier and cheaper than eating at a restaurant. When I cook at home, I can choose fresh ingredients and control the amount of oil and salt. However, I sometimes eat at restaurants on special occasions like birthdays.
3. What cooking programs do you like to watch?
I like watching MasterChef because it is very exciting and entertaining. The chefs are very talented, and I can learn many new recipes from them. I also enjoy watching Vietnamese cooking shows on YouTube because they teach me how to cook traditional dishes step by step.
4. Would you like to become a chef in the future?
No, I don’t want to become a chef. I think being a chef is very stressful because you have to work long hours in a hot kitchen. I just see cooking as a hobby — something I do for fun. I would like to have a different career, but I will always enjoy cooking at home.
Speaking Part 2: Discussion
Phần tiêu đề “Speaking Part 2: Discussion”Your English teacher is going to retire. Your class wants to hold a farewell party. Which place: at school, at the teacher’s house, or in a restaurant?
Bài mẫu:
Phần tiêu đề “Bài mẫu:”I would choose to hold the farewell party in a restaurant. I think a restaurant is the best place for this special event.
The first reason is that a restaurant is very convenient. We don’t have to cook or prepare anything — the restaurant staff will take care of everything, including food, drinks, and decoration. This means we can focus on celebrating with our teacher instead of worrying about preparation.
The second reason is that a restaurant has a beautiful and elegant atmosphere. This shows our respect and gratitude to our teacher. She has taught us for many years, so she deserves a special celebration. We can also take nice photos together to remember this day.
I would not choose having the party at school because the school environment is too formal and boring. It feels like a normal school day, not a celebration. As for the teacher’s house, it would be very inconvenient for her. She would have to clean and prepare everything, which is not fair because this party is supposed to be a gift for her.
In short, a restaurant is the best choice because it is convenient, has a nice atmosphere, and properly shows our love for our teacher.
Speaking Part 3: Topic Development (nói 2 phút)
Phần tiêu đề “Speaking Part 3: Topic Development (nói 2 phút)”Living far from home has many disadvantages: homesickness, high living costs, and dangers.
Bài mẫu:
Phần tiêu đề “Bài mẫu:”Today, I would like to talk about the disadvantages of living far from home. Many young people in Vietnam move to big cities for study or work, but I think living far from home has several problems.
Firstly, one of the biggest disadvantages is homesickness. When young people live far from their family, they often feel lonely and sad, especially during holidays and festivals like Tet. They miss their parents’ cooking, their old friends, and the familiar environment at home. When they are sick or in trouble, there is no family member nearby to help them. This can lead to stress and depression.
Secondly, the cost of living in big cities is much higher than in small towns or the countryside. Young people have to pay for rent, food, transportation, and many other things. Many students only receive a small allowance from their parents, so they feel a lot of financial pressure. Some students even have to work part-time jobs to earn extra money, which affects their studies.
Thirdly, living alone in a big city can be dangerous. Young people may face unsafe situations such as theft, scams, or traffic accidents. They are not familiar with the area, and they don’t know the people around them. Without family protection, they are more vulnerable to these risks.
In conclusion, living far from home has many disadvantages such as homesickness, high living costs, and dangers. Young people should think carefully before making this decision and always keep in touch with their family.
Writing Task 1: Informal Letter
Phần tiêu đề “Writing Task 1: Informal Letter”Your Australian friend wants to visit Danang in Vietnam. You have been there before. Write a letter to tell him how to get there, what activities to do, and why you chose Danang.
Bài mẫu:
Phần tiêu đề “Bài mẫu:”Dear Tom,
I’m so happy to hear that you want to visit Danang! It is one of the most beautiful cities in Vietnam, and I’m sure you will love it. Let me tell you everything you need to know.
First, about how to get there. The best way is to fly from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, and then take a domestic flight to Danang. The flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Danang takes only about 1 hour and 20 minutes. You can also find some direct flights from Australia to Danang, which is even more convenient.
Second, there are many exciting activities in Danang. You should definitely visit My Khe Beach — it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Asia. You can swim, surf, and enjoy fresh seafood right on the beach. Don’t forget to visit Ba Na Hills and take photos at the famous Golden Bridge. I also recommend trying the local food like mi Quang and banh xeo — they are incredibly delicious!
Finally, I chose Danang because the weather is beautiful, the people are very friendly, and the food is cheap and delicious. It is a perfect place for a holiday. You won’t regret it!
Let me know when you plan to go so I can help you more. Take care!
Best wishes, Linh
Writing Task 2: Essay — Advantages
Phần tiêu đề “Writing Task 2: Essay — Advantages”What are the advantages of having new experiences? Give your own opinion.
Bài mẫu:
Phần tiêu đề “Bài mẫu:”Life is full of opportunities to try new things. In my opinion, having new experiences brings many important advantages that help us grow as individuals. In this essay, I will discuss three main benefits.
Firstly, new experiences help us gain valuable knowledge. When we travel to a new country, we learn about different languages, cultures, and ways of living. When we try a new job, we learn new skills and gain practical experience. For example, when I visited Thailand last year, I learned many things about Thai food and culture that I could never learn from books. Real-life experience is always the best teacher.
Secondly, new experiences can enrich our lives and make them more meaningful. When we try new hobbies like painting, cooking, or playing a sport, we discover new passions that make us happier. Life would be very boring if we did the same things every day. Having new experiences adds color and excitement to our daily routine.
Thirdly, trying new things helps us broaden our social circle. When we travel, join a new class, or start a new activity, we have the chance to meet new people who share the same interests. These connections can become lasting friendships and even open up new opportunities in our career and personal life.
In conclusion, having new experiences helps us gain knowledge, enrich our lives, and make new friends. I believe everyone should step out of their comfort zone and try something new whenever they have the chance.
