Nguồn: Đề thi thật VSTEP B1 (12/2019 – 12/2020)

1. Do you walk a lot?

Yes, I walk quite a lot every day. I usually walk to school in the morning, and after dinner, I take a walk around my neighborhood. I think walking is a healthy habit that helps me stay fit.

2. Do you walk more now than in the past?

Yes, I walk much more now than in the past. Before, I used to take a motorbike everywhere. But now I try to walk more because I want to stay healthy and save money on gas. Walking also helps me reduce stress.

3. Do you think people will walk more in the future?

Yes, I think people will walk more in the future because they are becoming more health-conscious. Moreover, many cities are building more parks and walking paths, so it is easier for people to walk. Walking is also good for the environment because it does not cause pollution.

4. Where do you usually walk?

I usually take a walk in the park near my house. It has many trees and flowers, and the air is very fresh. Sometimes, I also walk along the river bank in the evening. It is very peaceful and relaxing there.

1. Do you enjoy shopping?

Yes, I quite enjoy shopping. I like going to shopping malls with my friends on weekends. We look at clothes, try on shoes, and sometimes buy things we like. It is a fun way to spend time together.

2. How often do you go shopping?

I go shopping about once or twice a month. I usually buy clothes and daily necessities. However, I also do online shopping quite often because it is more convenient — I can buy things from home without going anywhere.

3. What is the most expensive item you have purchased?

The most expensive thing I have ever bought is a laptop for my studies. It cost about 15 million VND. I saved money for several months to buy it. Although it was expensive, I think it was worth it because I use it every day for studying and working.

4. Is shopping a popular activity in your country?

Yes, shopping is very popular in Vietnam. Many people enjoy going to shopping malls and markets on weekends. Especially during sales events like Black Friday or Tet, the stores are always crowded with shoppers. Online shopping is also becoming more and more popular.

Your foreign friends want to learn about Vietnamese history. Which way is the best: go to a museum, study through documentaries, or read books?

I would choose going to a museum. I think this is the best way for my foreign friends to learn about Vietnamese history.

The first reason is that in a museum, my friends can see real artifacts and pictures from the past. They can look at old weapons, clothes, and documents with their own eyes. This is much more interesting and memorable than just reading about them in a book.

The second reason is that many museums in Vietnam now have English-speaking tour guides. My friends can listen to the guide and ask questions directly. This helps them understand Vietnamese history more easily and clearly.

I would not choose reading books because history books are usually very long and difficult to understand. My foreign friends might find them boring. As for documentaries, it is also not the best choice because there are very few English-language documentaries about Vietnamese history. My friends might not find good ones to watch.

In short, visiting a museum is the best option because my friends can see real things and get clear explanations from a tour guide.

Education is not the only way to succeed: more independent, succeed earlier than others, run their own business.

Today, I would like to talk about why education is not the only way to succeed in life. I agree with this idea, and I have three reasons.

Firstly, people who do not go to university often become more independent. They have to find jobs and solve problems by themselves from a young age. They learn practical skills that cannot be taught in a classroom. As a result, they become self-reliant and can handle many situations in life.

Secondly, these people can succeed earlier than others. While their friends spend four years at university, they start working and earning money right away. They gain real work experience and can build their career faster. For example, many successful people started working at the age of 18 and became managers before they were 25.

Thirdly, some people choose to run their own business instead of going to university. For instance, famous entrepreneurs like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs dropped out of college but built very successful companies. This shows that creativity, hard work, and determination are sometimes more important than a university degree.

In conclusion, I believe that education is valuable, but it is not the only path to success. Hard work, practical skills, and the right attitude can also lead to a successful life.

Some people say we can see films on phones or tablets and there is no need to go to the cinema. Others say films need to be seen in a cinema to be fully enjoyed. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Nowadays, many people watch films on their phones or tablets instead of going to the cinema. Some people believe that this is enough, while others think that the cinema is still the best place to enjoy a film. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my opinion.

On the one hand, watching films on phones and tablets has many advantages. Firstly, it is very convenient — people can watch films anytime and anywhere, such as on the bus, before bed, or during lunch break. Secondly, there are many apps like Netflix that offer thousands of films at a low price. People do not need to buy expensive cinema tickets. Moreover, they can watch films with their family at home, which is more comfortable and relaxing.

On the other hand, many people believe that films should be seen in a cinema. The cinema has a large screen and surround sound that give viewers an immersive experience. This is especially true for action movies and horror films — they are much more exciting on a big screen. In addition, going to the cinema is a social activity. People enjoy going with friends or family, and it creates beautiful memories.

In my opinion, I believe that both ways of watching films have their value. However, for special films that I really love, I prefer to watch them in the cinema because the experience is much better. For everyday films, watching on my phone is good enough.
