1. Do you like flowers?

Yes, I really like flowers. I think flowers are very beautiful and they make me feel happy. I often buy flowers to put in my room because they make my room look brighter and smell nicer.

2. What is your favorite flower?

My favorite flower is the lotus. It is the national flower of Vietnam. I love the lotus because it is very elegant and has a gentle smell. Moreover, the lotus has a special meaning — it grows from mud but is still clean and beautiful, just like a person with good character.

3. Do you think flowers are important?

Yes, I think flowers are very important in our lives. Flowers help people express their feelings. For example, we give red roses to show love, and white flowers to show respect. Besides, flowers are also used to decorate houses, offices, and events, making them more beautiful.

4. On what occasions do people give or receive flowers?

People give and receive flowers on many special occasions. For example, on Valentine’s Day, men often give roses to their girlfriends. On Women’s Day (March 8th), women receive flowers from their families and friends. In addition, people also give flowers at weddings, graduations, and funerals.

You want to lose weight. Which would you choose: playing sports, skipping breakfast, or going to the gym?

I would choose playing sports to lose weight. I think it is the healthiest and most enjoyable way.

The first reason is that playing sports helps me burn calories effectively and improve my overall health. When I play sports like badminton or football, my whole body is moving, so I can lose weight naturally. It also makes my heart and muscles stronger.

The second reason is that I can play with my friends, so it is much more fun than exercising alone. When we play together, we motivate each other and don’t feel bored. This makes it easier to continue for a long time.

I would not choose skipping breakfast because it is very unhealthy. Our body needs energy in the morning, and if we skip breakfast, we may feel tired and get stomachaches. As for going to the gym, it can be effective, but we have to pay a membership fee every month. Many people also give up after a few weeks because it is boring to exercise alone.

In short, playing sports is the best way to lose weight because it is healthy, fun, and free.

Ways to overcome stress.

Today, I would like to talk about ways to overcome stress. In modern life, stress is very common, but there are several effective ways to deal with it.

Firstly, one of the best ways to reduce stress is to exercise regularly. When we exercise, our body releases happy hormones that make us feel relaxed and positive. Simple activities like jogging, swimming, or even walking in the park for 30 minutes a day can help a lot.

Secondly, talking to someone is also a great way to overcome stress. When we share our problems with family members or close friends, we feel much better. They can give us advice and support, and we know that we are not alone. Sometimes, just having someone to listen is enough.

Thirdly, we should learn to manage our time wisely. Many people feel stressed because they have too much work and not enough time. By making a schedule and breaking big tasks into smaller ones, we can finish our work step by step without feeling overwhelmed.

In conclusion, exercising regularly, talking to others, and managing time wisely are three simple but effective ways to overcome stress. I think everyone should try these methods to have a happier life.

You are having your first summer camp. Write a letter to your friend Hoa to tell her about: how you feel, who you stay with, and what activities you do.

Dear Hoa,

How are you? I’m writing to tell you about my first summer camp. It’s amazing here!

At first, I felt a bit nervous and scared because I didn’t know anyone. But now, I’m having the best time of my life! Everything here is so exciting and new. I wake up every morning feeling happy and energetic.

I’m staying in a room with three other girls. Their names are Lan, Huong, and Thu. They are all very friendly and funny. We became close friends after just two days! We talk and laugh a lot before going to sleep every night.

About the activities, we do so many fun things here. In the morning, we do outdoor activities like hiking, swimming in the lake, and playing team games. In the afternoon, we have workshops where we learn to paint and make crafts. My favorite part is the campfire at night — we sing songs, tell stories, and roast marshmallows. It’s so much fun!

I wish you were here! I’ll show you all the photos when I get back. Write to me soon!

Love, Linh

Teenagers take part in unpaid work such as volunteering and teaching poor kids. Discuss the benefits to teenagers and society.

Nowadays, many teenagers take part in unpaid work like volunteering and teaching poor children. I believe that this brings many benefits to both teenagers and society.

Firstly, unpaid work helps teenagers develop important skills. When they volunteer, they learn communication skills, teamwork, and leadership. For example, when a teenager teaches poor kids, he or she has to prepare lessons and speak in front of a group. These skills will be very useful for their future careers. Moreover, doing volunteer work also makes teenagers’ CV look better, which helps them get into good universities or find jobs more easily.

Secondly, unpaid work brings great benefits to society. When teenagers help disadvantaged people, the community becomes stronger and more united. Poor children who receive free education can have a better future. Old people in nursing homes feel less lonely when young volunteers visit them. In addition, when teenagers do volunteer work instead of wasting time on games or social media, social problems like youth crime can be reduced.

In conclusion, unpaid work is valuable for both teenagers and society. Teenagers can develop skills and become better people, while society benefits from their kindness and contribution. I think the government and schools should encourage more teenagers to participate in volunteer activities.
